It was a… wild semester to say the least. I managed a full-time middle-school teaching job, a section of undergrad writing I’d never taught before, taking a course for my PhD, and being a wife and mom to a very wiggly worm.

I honestly looked at my schedule at the beginning of the semester and was worried. How was I going to do it all?

Yes, there were times that it felt insurmountable. There were some weeks of very long nights of work and a few tears shed. But… I did it. And I did it well, getting an A and very strong course evaluations. I feel proud of myself for pushing through and showing Solenn that we can do challenging things.

I’m also, of course, grateful for the village of family, friends, and coworkers that sustain and support me. This wouldn’t have happened without them. And… I’m excited to not do this again next semester, since it helped me realize that I want to spend more time with the wiggliest of worms. 😊
